Hasta La Vista

I hate to write this, but between Michael and I, we have several medical issues coming up and our time will be taken with getting ourselves. You’ve been great friends and I’ve enjoyed your friendsships.

All the best

Lower Temps

What a relief to awake to cooler temperatures. Also, Bailey didn’t get up until I got out of bed. He came out from under the futon looking at me like how did I get up before him. Maybe it’s because it’s Sunday.

Both cats were up for being groomed and some treats. The rest of the day they have been taking it easy and following me around as I go about my day.

I noticed that with the lower temperatures today I wasn’t as anxious as I have been the last few days.

For fun the other day I texted Lady C on my cell phone. I don’t use this feature very often and that is to Michael. But, I hadn’t talked to Lady C in several days; I thought it would be a fun thing to do. So, I came up with a little message “Just thinking of you.” Now I didn’t put my name on there as I assumed she would recognize my number. I think I thought wrong because I haven’t heard from her. So, Lady C, if you got a messaged from someone thinking of you, it was me.

I hope everyone is having a good Sunday.

Happy Summer

Let me tell you that when summer decides to come in – She comes in and makes herself at home.

I was going to open up the back to let some breeze through. Ha! It was heat I felt. That door was shut immediately. I went to the front door to see what the thermometer had to say. It said that at 10 a.m. it was 85 degrees. This means for sure that over the hill in North County they will have triple digits. Yesterday, one town measured in at 110 degrees.

There are small joys in life – heat not being one of them – and the other day when Michael and I went up to the pharmacy, I found a new medication dispenser that was very colorful. My current blue one was beginning to fall apart and a new one had to come along. I found one with a white bottom and clear yellow, pink, blue and purple tops. The tops are marked with the day of the week, the time of day and actual times. It’s quite colorful and makes me happy. Michael likes it too and was glad that he noticed it because he has been saying I needed a new on. Ask and ye shall receive.

Oh yeah, if any of you are not receiving a notice for when I notify, let me know. I seemed to have lost my notify list and it has disappeared in the land of the World Wide Web or the deep caverns of my computer. Anyway, send me a note and I will rebuild my notify list.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday.

It’s HOT

Just a short note, Michael was able to get my laptop working again. I just got to love that man. Plus, he makes really good cheeseburgers.

At 7 a.m. it was 75 degrees. When I came back from doing errands this afternoon the temperature had risen to 84 degrees. We have all the windows open and slider doors open. There is a slight breeze. Listening to the news tonight it was reported that over the hill the heat was in the triple digits.

Went to the dentist today for my bi-annual checkup and found out I’m probably going to have to have a root canal. Oh joy, at least it will be the second one I’ve had. Other than that my other teeth are doing well.

Big news, I had a lovely chat with my Godfather in Maine. He is such a sweet man. We both miss my Aunt Keppy who was my Godmother. I told him I do talk to her a lot but there are times when she tells me I really need to talk to him. He is a good one for listening and a good one for good wisdom.

Friday 13th

Can you believe it? We have a Friday the 13th today. I can’t even remember when the last one was. If you couldn’t tell, it is one of my favorite days.

Only today, I learn I’ve lost one of my stud earrings. I have the back of it but cannot find the front of it. I went upstairs and checked the bed and no earring there. Then I came downstairs and tore my chair apart and other than finding the back of the earring my search came to an end. This is going to bug me until I find that earring. See, this is another trait of the Virgo in me.

It has been a cool and gray day. I don’t feel like going out. It is that time of month for me and I’m pretty much living in the bathroom. I don’t know if this is normal, a cause of the fibroid cysts or my hormonal replacement therapy medication. I do see my doctor on June 25 and hopefully will have some answers and solutions.

I’ve been reading “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams. I have to say it is a very enjoyable book and makes much more sense to me than did the movie. It is easy reading for me and I can get through 10 pages at a time very quickly.

I hope tomorrow is a sunny day and I wake up with some energy to get a few things done around the house. That would help my mood a lot.

Well, from my home to yours, have a good evening.

Michael has changed my e-mail from Yahoo to Mozilla Thunderbird. Michael likes the program very much but I’m still learning. I haven’t quite figured out how to do a signature and then with the amount of mail I receive to change the e-mail there or unsubscribe and begin again.

Another new program is MailWasher. Before my mail is delivered into Thunderbird it goes through MailWasher and it helps me determine whether it is spam or other wanted mail. I make the appropriate choices and that mail shall never be at my door again. This is kind of cool but again I’m still learning.

Exciting news I received in the mail the paperwork for my Medicare and assistance on prescription medications. I’ve read it over and my mind is a whirl. I will have to have Michael read it over or go over to the local office and have them help me fill the paperwork out. Nothing is ever simple anymore.

The push is on to find a job for Michael. His unemployment ran out and extensions are not being offered this year. Grrr. We have had to go over our expenses to see what we can give up. For one thing, I won’t be driving down to South County to get my manicures. I figured it up and it is 46 miles round trip twice a month. With the cost of gas these days, I need to stay home. We are really working on bunching up any and all trips that are in the same area. This isn’t too bad although I’m tired by the end of the day.

The weather has been wonderful and we’ve had slider doors and windows open. The fragrance of fresh air is heavenly. I hope it stays this way.

Well, have a good Friday.

I can never tell when I’m going to get an entry up or be able to respond to e-mail with the way this laptop is working. I have to grab it fast when it’s working. I hope all are having a good week.
