Computer Problems

My computer is giving me the fits. It works and then it doesn’t work. So I shall be down for awhile.

I know I have been promising wedding photos for over a month now. Well, now I can deliver.

Well, no I can’t. I’ve tried uploading my photos and it’s not happening. I will have to play with this and see what happens. If anyone knows how to do this, I would appreciate the education.

Today was a day of a pedicure, purchasing hairball food for the kids and checking the mail. I returned home and picked up Michael so we could go into town to get some things done.

It was amazing that I hit all the lights when they were green, I had a parking place close by the door of the Clerk’s Office. I had to take care of a problem with my registration for voting. That was easily taken care of and then to handle my passport. As it was, the clerk assisted me in putting my documents together. She said all of this could be handled by mailing the documents in and circled the address to where they were to go. Yea, I can get them in the mail tomorrow.

The funny thing was I needed to return a pair of clogs I purchased from L. L. Bean which were too large for me. We went to drop them off at the UPS store only to find it wasn’t there any more.

Well, we would drop off the package in SLO-town. While driving along I said something to the effect that we hardly saw UPS trucks any more. Would you believe, I looked into my rearview mirror and there was a UPS truck.

I pulled over to the right lane and let the truck by and we followed him to his next stop and asked him about where to leave off packages. Then he said he would be happy to take my package for me. There are nice guys left in the world. Actually, everyone we dealt with today was more than helpful and in a good mood. I thank the powers that be for that.

What a beautiful day out. Sunshine and breeze greet us as we begin our day of doing stuff.

Stop one, is for Michael to deposit his check. That was an in and out trip and on our way to the errand that could take the most time.

Second stop is AAA. Being a member I can get passport photos at a lower rate than going to one of the other stores. If I remember the last time I had to get these photos, I had to pay $12. This time it was $8; of course, if we had the premiere membership, the photos would be free. Oh well.

Stop three is DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles). I was filling out my form for changing my name on my motorcycle registration. I reached a point where I wasn’t sure what I was doing and decided to stop and have the DMV people lead me on. Good thing too, since I didn’t sign the right name in the right place and had to do a correction. As usual there was a cost for all of this, $15. Michael took care of this for me. He’s so sweet. Anyway, that is done and I should have my new registration will be here in three to four weeks.

We had thought about going to the store for some shopping but decided against it and to do that for another day. The other day we saw an ad for Pizza Hut and had a hankering for pizza. Would you believe, where we thought the establishment was, it is not there any longer. I drove to a gas station to find a telephone book. Much to our dismay, there is NO Pizza Hut’s in our immediate area. Darn, I was in the mood for some pizza.

It did cross my mind to stop off at the Clerk’s Office since we were right across the street and take care of my passport. However, I decided against it since I was feeling tired and mildly stressed.

Our last stop was to the health food store to get Max his wheat grass. While Michael took care of that, I went to the pharmacy to see about getting a medical alert bracelet for all the medications I take and some should not be taken with others. My worry was passing out somewhere and the emergency people giving me something that would interact with what I already have i my system. The store did not have a bracelet or other tag so they sent me home with a pamphlet for MedicAlert which would be able to tailor one to my needs.

We also stopped off at a tattoo shop to look for some earrings for Michael. We saw some we liked but wasn’t ready to make a buy this day. I also looked for tattoo ideas to finish off the one I had begun on my left arm. Finding what I liked was going to cost was going to run me $300 to $350. I was not ready to spend that kind of money yet. We are going to stop by some other tattoo shops to see what else was out there and what it was going to cost.

Alrighty then, we are on our way home. I feel we are both glad. Michael made me a yummy sandwich and not long after I finished I found I was sound asleep.

All in all, it was a really good day.

I woke up to fog this morning. It wasn’t a dense fog but light where the houses and the flora had a mystical look to it.

This could be a busy day and it is a little as I go about doing paperwork (filling out a form for a new passport), filing, meditating, putting away clean clothes and making the bed. I’m not sure how much more I will do though there is another load of wash and to straighten up the kitchen.

In perusing the Internet, I learn that Demi Moore is crediting her youthful looks to leech therapy. Leech therapy? I know that leeches were used years ago to bleed folks in an attempt to heal whatever was wrong with them. I don’t remember how successful this treatment was but yuuuuck!

When my Dad owned property on the river, there was a sluggish place to cross over to get to the quicker moving water of the river. All of us kids hated this sluggish area because . . . leeches lived there. I thought they were gross. Being a girl, if that is a reason, I certainly didn’t want to have one of those things on me. It did happen occasionally and Dad would take a lighted match and hold the match near the head of the leech and it would let go. Thank heavens for fire. Fire also works well on ticks too.

Anyway, Demi wants to go back to Australia to have another treatment because the first time only four leeches were used and she feels she has been cheated. Did she check her brain at the door?

Another Warm Day

The day did not begin well for me. I felt off center and a little angry. These feelings I know not where they come from or why I am having them. Of course, this is the downside of having emotional disorders. All I can do is take the day easy and only do as I feel up to it.

The temperature is quite nice. We have windows and slider doors open and the fresh air feels good. Michael and the cats are napping. Besides writing here, I am watching a movie. I’ve seen it before so I can do this with one eye on the television and the other watching what I type.

Another easy day.

Besides me (see quote below) my other hero is Michael.

After all the busyness of yesterday, we took it easy today. Naps were in order and the cats joined us.

A Partying We Will Go

Today we went to Lady C’s birthday party. Actually, yesterday was her birthday but we celebrated today. No, I shall not give away which birthday this is as a friend never tells personal details.

The weather was heavenly. We didn’t even need our light jackets. Music was playing with a nice variety of genres. Food was cooking on the grill. It sure smelled good and what was brought around for tasting was heavenly.

We met lots of folks we hadn’t seen in awhile and it was fun to catch up on what had gone on in our lives. Because I become uncomfortable in large crowds, Michael and I sat at one of the picnic tables farther out and people came over to us to say hi.

After a time, we said our goodbyes and headed for home.

Two stops though, one to Best Buy. Michael had purchased himself a wireless hook up for his computer. The idea being that we wouldn’t have to share the one hook up.

Next stop was to Bed Bath and Beyond. We received a gift certificate as a wedding gift. What to buy, what to buy? There is so much we could use so we walked around the store to see what caught our eyes.

To start, we picked two king-size pillows. Next stop was two bath sheets and to finish our spending spree, we purchased 14 washcloths for the price of 12. When all was said and done, we had to come up with $12 and some change. Woweee, we scored!

Now we head for home and the kids.

“My after forty face felt far more comfortable than anything I lived with previously. Self-confidence was a powerful beauty-potion; I looked better because I felt better. Failure and grief as well as success and love had served me well. Finally, I was tapping into that most hard-won of youth dews: wisdom.”
