Quote of the Day:
“Envy is a con man, a tugger at your sleeve, a knocker at your door. Let me in for just a moment, it says, for just one moment of your time. . . The antidote to envy is one’s own work. Not the thinking about it. Not the assessing of it. But the doing of it. The answers you want can come only from the work itself. It drives the spooks away.”

Here it is, Saturday, again. Boy I don’t know where the week goes. I suppose this week has been spent on house cleaning.
I have a list of each room and what needs to be done. Every part of that room gets touched. I can at least say the room is entirely touched once a year. Of course, this is where some of my anxiety comes from in attempting to get everything done although not in one day. I set out two or three items to do every day or every couple of days.
Now the hard part comes with inserting some relaxing time in the hustle and bustle of cleaning. I either watch television, write or read. Oh, let’s add painting in there.
No, I don’t get everything done that I have on my list. I have to talk to myself assertively that “it is okay not to get it done.” This is where I make my gratitude list to show myself that yes, I did get some housework done, I had leisure time as well and I did enjoy.
Aaaah, I just give myself a headache trying to do it all.

I do the same thing sometimes. I think it is because we always have to feel productive even if we don’t want to be.
