What I didn’t write about yesterday was my trip into SLO-town. What caught my eye were the blooming wildflowers.
The California Poppy, primarily orange, was a brilliant orange. I felt I needed my shades. The poppies are growing along the roadside in clumps of blooms. It’s all one can do not to pull over and roll around in them or to gather them to your face just to feel the petals. Of course, these actions are against the law; so, all I have is to imagine it in my mind. The poppies around my mail box are yellow and orange. The tips of the petals are orange but as it comes to the base of the bloom it is a bright yellow.
The other flower that had my attention was the wild mustard with its bright yellow blooms. There is one agricultural field that is lying fallow is a solid field of these radiant yellow flowers.
The other day Michael and I were out and about and drove by an empty field that was filled with lupine. Again, the color was so enchanting and breathtaking.
I hope those of you who drive or are a passenger take time to notice this loveliness.

Flowers are one thing we do not have…not at this early date. I look forward to them, in due time, but as you well know, New England’s flowers don’t bloom in March.
